The Wizard Fire Pit is designed with secondary combustion technology, allowing smoke to be reburned through the airflow system for a cleaner and more efficient flame. The majority of the heat is directed upwards through the top opening, helping create a strong and concentrated burn.
On windy days, you may notice:
- The flame burns more intensely due to increased airflow.
- Firewood may burn faster than on calm days.
- The fire may need more frequent fuel additions.
For the best performance, always ensure the airflow lever is fully open at the beginning of your fire. The airflow adjuster should be positioned on the “+” sign to allow maximum oxygen flow.
A properly ventilated fire will burn cleaner and hotter, although it may use slightly more wood because the fuel is burning more efficiently.
Choosing the Right Firewood for Different Conditions
The type of wood you use plays an important role in fire performance, especially in different weather conditions.

Driftwood should also be avoided. Salt trapped inside driftwood becomes highly corrosive when burned and can damage the metal over time.

Wet wood is one of the biggest causes of smoky fires. Even if timber feels dry on the outside, moisture inside the wood can make it harder to light and create more smoke.

The Wizard Fire Pit is made using Grade 304 stainless steel, known for its excellent rust resistance. However, outdoor environments especially coastal areas can be harsh. Constant exposure to rain, moisture, and salt air can eventually affect any metal product.
