How much wood is a years supply?
The lucky customer will get 4 cubic metres of top quality NZ hardwood that has been dried for a minimum of 12 months.
This will last you around 100 burns in your fire pit with approximately 4 hours of burn time per session.
Will the wood get delivered to me?
Yes, we have connections with wood suppliers all across New Zealand. Whever the winner is located, we will collaborate with you to make it as easy as possible and can arrange the wood to be delivered in stages over the year.
Will a years supply of wood take up a lot of space?
The winner will get 4 cubic metres of wood.
How much height and side clearance do I need above my fire pit?
For the regular size and jumbo size Wizard Fire Pits, you will want a minimum height clearance of 5 metres from any structures or trees to be safe.
Also, a side clearance from any walls or tree of 2 metres.
For the Mini Wizard Fire Pits, you will want a minimum height clearance of 2 metres from any structures or trees to be safe.
Also, a side clearance from any walls or tree of 1 metre.
Where can I use my fire pit?
Use it in your backyard or thanks to its portability you can use it at the beach or your next camping trip.
How do I clean out my fire pit?
When your wood is burned through completely, and your fire pit is cool, remove the ash pan from under your base plate and dump it.
Are they stationary, or can they be moved?
Yes, thanks to the unique design, our fire pits can be easily transported. There are 3 sizes available (Mini, Regular and Jumbo) and they only weigh 1.9kg, 11kg and 20kg respectively.
Why is my base plate removable?
As your wood burns on the base plate, the ashes will fall to the ash pan below. When it's done burning and completely cooled, you won't have to tip your fire pit over to get rid of ashes. A simple lift of the base plate and removal of the ash pan means you can easily clean your fire pit.
Will my bonfire be hot when in use?
YES! Do not touch your fire pit with barehands when in use. It should be treated like an open flame.
What type(s) of wood should I use as fuel?
Firstly, avoid using pine. It tends to burn with a lot of black soot because of the high resin content.
To get a really good smokeless flame, you must use quality, dry fuel. Kiln-dried hardwoods such as manuka, gum, oak and wattle are great and have a low moisture content; other woods, such as quality macrocarpa are also suitable.Ā Ā
You can also has compressed wooden pellets but choose the ones made from hardwood for optimal results (it will say on the front of the packet)

Factors such as wind, fire temperature and fuel type can have an effect. For example, a gust of wind may cause a puff of smoke to occur. If your fire pit is running out of fuel or you are finished with it and it is cooling down, smoke may occur when the double burn is no longer in action. When your firepit is getting up to temperature (15-20 mins) smoke will occur until the double burn can take effect.Ā
